Out of Stock on Fat Brain Lies Hard Copies!...

I was robbed! They took everything of value from my home including my printing system. Luckily my laptop was with me. It will take me a while to repurchase the materials I need to create the hard copies of the books. I will let you know when I have them again.


Update on the 6 Week Intro to Finding Your Perfect Diet!...

The new group is doing great. We lost a couple of people in the beginning, but everyone else seems to be finding their niche and settling into what seems like great life-long programs. Although weight loss is not the focus of the first two weeks of this program. People do lose weight. The amount of weight lost is completely dependant on how bad the person's diet was before they started, and then how much they cut back on high sodium foods as they prepare for healthy weight loss. In this group for the first two weeks weight loss was anywhere between half a pound and 16.5 pounds. You can see actual weight loss for those members by going to my Current Client List page.

As we finished the two official weeks of discovery, a few chose to do another week of experimenting to fine tune the diet they will live on for the rest of their lives, others have moved into weight loss mode and are very excited about having a diet that they will be able to do long term.

I asked them the other day what they thought about starting a diet in maintenance mode rather than jumping straight into weight loss here are a few of their comments:

Yes it did because changing thinking patterns is more important than the actual diet. Concentrating on both goals could have been too much for me.~Efrat

I like starting with the end in mind. I have the firm sense now that when I reach my weight goal --(more than 80 pounds) and I will reach it--I know that I can keep the weight off because I've already done it. I am delighted with having had the support of Carlene and others online. It's kept me on track and motivated and learning. This is probably one of the best investments I have ever made in myself. It is a brilliant system that I have never seen anywhere else.  I have yo-yo dieted for over 20 years and it is the first time I have ever learned how I will maintain my weight once I reach my goal. I am two weeks into a new eating plan, and I have HOPE rather than discouragement.  In the past I would get to this point and probably have given up already because it was just too hard.  I believe this time, having worked slowly backward towards a calorie goal that I can live with, and having the daily support, and knowing that those things will continue, gives me a great deal of hope that this time is the last time, and it will never come to an end, because I am not "on a diet".  I am learning how to LIVE, and I plan to continue to do that for the rest of my life.~RoniF 

Good idea to examine and tweak where you are first because you deal with your real eating habits. I'll be honest - eating 100% raw is not reasonable for me the rest of my life - but this discovery mode eating is. ~Aribica 

 It takes the pressure off being perfect as I think a lot of us are perfectionists in most aspects of our lives. You have called it a backwards approach to maintenance, I have felt that it has been a gentle forward coaching, bringing insight into how very easy it is to grow enormous.

I must tell you though I am finding this so stress free. Thanks for coming up with this idea of working backwards, allowing us the learning curve without pressure. ~AZIS

I know that I can do this as I am determined - you have made a good case for not following a strict diet that can't be lived with forever - something that I never thought about before - it has always been to be restricted and then revert to the old way.
