We talked about the black hole of depression today.  The black hole that makes us not care and makes us eat.  Sometimes I have fallen into the hole by accident.  Other times I have defiantly jumped in.  No matter how many times I find myself into that hole, Carlene reaches in and pulls me out; thank God!  Today she said, "stay away from the black hole.....find happiness."  Today I decided that Carlene is right.  The black hole only brings misery and pain.  Today I stayed away from the hole.....I didn't even get near it.  Thank You Carlene!

Diets don't work because they are seen as short term times of deprivation to reach a goal. The program I offer works because I force you to look at the long term, or should I say life time goal of weight management. Instead of focusing on what you can't have, we focus on what you can have to feel satisfied and find balance with your food. No two people in this program will be eating the same, each person will eat based on their preferences and life style. Instead of trying to fit you to a specific diet and exercise program, together we will design a program based on exactly who you are.

Whether the weight loss aspect is fast weight loss or steady weight loss is totally up to you. Zoe has lost 40 pounds in about 3 months of weight loss. DC78 has lost 24 in about 2 months. Both are constantly in amazement that the weight is coming off at a nice pace without them feeling like they are on a never ending diet.

This program is actually tougher than starting a conventional diet. Why? Because as life long dieters we can't comprehend the fact that food can be guilt free in our lives, that we can go out with our friends to social events and have a good time, and that we do not have to be controlled by food any more. On this program, I will make you eat. I will make you face the truth about the foods you eat and love, about serving sizes and how you eat, and how you have lied to yourself for so long about food and the role it plays in your life. Not everyone is ready to move their relationship into a healthy one where they and not the food is in charge, but for those who are, this program works.

If you trust me and are willing to try a healthy new approach to weight loss without drugs, surgery, or even one bite of diet food, at the end of our six weeks together you will have a diet and exercise program personally suited to you, one that can take you all the way to your goal and let you live a life without food obsession.

That is a big claim, I know. I will also admit that some clients start and quit just like on any other diet, but those that are willing to work hard and approach this program with an open mind and want a life-time solution rather than a quick fix, this backward program of mine really works.

A couple of days ago Niadance said those magic words I wait to hear from each client. She came into this program with a desire to be a raw foodist because of how healthy she heard it is, but it was too hard and she couldn't stick to it. After about a week and a half, she wrote to me and told me she was going to quit. I talked her into one more week doing it the right way: no barriers, no preconceived ideas, no desires to fit into a lifestyle rather than finding a program that would work for her. She was reluctant at first, and did not believe anything would work for her. Those clients are in my private coaching program. This new 6 week program is based on the same philosophies, lessons and coaching as my 6 Week Intro Private Coaching, but more affordable, has not weight requirement, and is group based rather than one-on-one.

You will be part of a group ready to explore their honest relationship to food and their willingness to create success. This program will be set in a private forum where you will receive daily assignments to do together as a group. From your home page on my website, you will have access to daily audios from me that coincide with the daily assignments. Each week you will weigh in on your scheduled weigh in date, and I will review your food logs and journal that you will maintain on the free nutritional analysis program at www.fitday.com. I will then send you a personal email with my thoughts on how you can tweak your program for success and address anything in your journal that I think needs to be discussed.

Photos are recommended, but not required. You do not have to share your weight with the group, but are required to weigh in weekly with Carlene.

This is not a fast weight loss program, nor is it a raw food program. It is about finding the perfect diet and exercise program that will work for you long term. Everyone needs to come with an open mind to leave old dieting conventions behind. This approach is based on the success clients in the private coaching program are having once they get past their fear of eating. The diet you create will be completely individualized based on your eating preferences and what you are honestly capable of doing. There is no one perfect diet for everyone.

I know you want to immediately jump into fast weight loss just like every other diet you have tried, but think hard. If those other diets worked, you would not be here reading this. Instead we are going to work on you to get you ready for success with a plan you can do for the long haul.

Requirements:

Plan to be on the forum for 20-30 minutes per day as you listen to the audios and do the daily assignments. You can do the daily assignments at your convenience throughout the day.

Food and journal to be recorded daily on the free nutritional analysis program at www.fitday.com. When signing up, please create a username and password that are easily remembered to make my life easier.

A willingness to change, and an open mind to the type of diet that will bring you health, happiness and weight loss.

Week 1:

The first week everyone will move into a maintenance diet. I know that is a backwards approach, but it is amazing how well it works. As I said before this is the hardest thing to do because everyone just wants fast weight loss right from the start. Doing maintenance first lets us find a baseline for you, and lets you explore foods you honestly thought could never be on a diet for you. We will look at the foods that trigger overeating for you, and the ones that you can eat and feel satisfied with. There is no right or wrong food, there is only good choices based on who you are and what you honestly want to achieve. This first week we will take an honest look at what your food addictions are and how you can start to stand up to the Fat Brain Lies that have kept you fat.

Week 2:

In the second week, some will lower their calories slightly to see how they feel with a little less food. We will start to look at the truth behind the foods you love, how you honestly eat, and what has kept you from losing and keeping the weight off in the past. There are no judgments made here. Each of us have done some horrible things to satisfy our food addictions. There will be no true confessions going on, but we will start to dissect some of the lies we tell ourselves about our ability to succeed.

Week 3:

In Week 3 everyone will move into their first phase of weight loss. You will probably have already lost some weight during the maintenance program, but this week we will shave calories from your perfect diet. This way you will barely notice the change and be able to continue without a sense of deprivation. This week we will talk a lot about taking responsibility for your relationship to food and how to make the best choices for your situation.

Week 4:

This week everyone will drop to the weight loss diet they will use to reach their goal. We will examine all the reasons you have failed on diets in the past and how with your new diet all of those excuses are invalid. We will work on how to do this long term as each person's diet is tweaked for continued success. This week we will start an open forum for questions, based on a round robin type of system where everyone gets a chance to voice their concerns.

Week 5:

This week everyone will show off their first week's weight loss and talk about their plan and how they are faring. There will still be some tweaking done, and I will push you to push for longer exercise each day. The daily audios for week 5 will be geared toward issues coming up with individual members in the program. We will talk about emotional eating and come up with ways to cut the cord between emotions and food.

Week 6:

The final week will involve more tweaking to make sure everyone feels satisfied by their diet and cannot attribute the word deprived to it. By the end of this week each of you should be at the point or very close to being in awe of the fact that had you looked at food this way before you never would have had to live in a fat suit at all! Don't get me wrong. This program is tough, but for those who are willing to give it their all, it can be the best thing you have done for your life. My goal is not to get you to lose weight although that will happen, it is to teach you that you do not have to have a love/hate relationship with food, that your body is not out to betray you, and that you do have the ability to take full responsibility for everything you eat, because once you do, you like others here, will be able to break that obsession that keeps you gaining all your hard earned weight loss back.

This really does work for those who are ready to change!
